    Hi there,

I'm looking for advice. Myself and my partner are considering a career break and make a move abroad. She's dead set on Vancouver but herein lies the issue; this won't be my first visa under 2 year IEC.

Way back when, in 2013 I applied and got a 2 year visa and went to Toronto. Unfortunately, I made an absolute bollix of it and endedup moving back home to Ireland shortly after (young, dumb and broke).

From further inquiries, I've come to learn that this IEC 2 year working holiday was only an opportunity to be availed of once.

Am I completely goosed and may give up or are there wats and means?

As it stands, I'm employed in the Dept of Justice as a serving member of an Garda Siochana if that helps re visa routes?

    Thanks in advance lads!!

If you had a 2 year visa then technically you're out of luck.

But you can also apply again and see what happens. If you get rejected because of prior participation then you will get any fees refunded. It has happened that people have slipped through like this.

Another alternative is to get a UK passport (if you qualify).

Not totally true. There is a new thing that came out a few months before COVID that will give you a 2nd chance. It's something you have to apply via a company. I'll see can I dig it up.
