Where you fancy? Black Sheep would be a good spot for anyone wanting to grab something to eat beforehand too, or maybe TP Smiths is a bit closer but pricier I think?

Black sheep is my usual pre-gig spot so that's fine by me

Sadly will be stuck in work till 8 and running up the quays like a madman to catch as much of the gig as possible but will certainly be about for one or 3 afterwards.

Everybody should go to the Gypsy Rose afterwards. Specifically downstairs. Some great bands playing there

I did that, but, in order to do anything other than join an already existing event you have to pay.
Went to a couple of events in that group a few years back.
The group is free to join with only the organisers having to pay a subscription fee and I know this is fact as I am one of the organisers.
Our next gig is Saxon tomorrow night.

Whoah, I didn't even know about Saxon!

Nah, I can't do it. Heading to Sabaton on Sat, and need moneys. Then Behemoth next Thursday. Not even gonna make Morbid Angel

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 20,944 ✭✭✭✭Links234

    Who's still going to Behemoth?

Been busy all week and forgot to post in this thread. Yeah I'm still going tonight, I'll probably head straight to the venue for Aeternum Vale as I doubt I can get in early.

Well, I was stuck in the hospital all morning, so only on the bus now, won't have time for a pint beforehand, as myself and herself will need to grab dinner, bit if you see me at the gig say hi. You probably can't miss me, I'll be the one dressed all in black ;)

I'm pretty tall, shortish red hair, side shaved, few piercings and glasses.

If you spot a heavy set guy with a beard wearing a Nile annihilation of the wicked hoody say hello!

So, what are the next gigs for people?

Next year I'm looking at maybe At The Gates, Death, Kamelot and Anathema

  • Moderators, Regional Abroad Moderators Posts: 26,928 Mod ✭✭✭✭rainbow kirby

Definitely Blind Guardian in April, most likely Sabaton in January, possibly Kamelot in March.

I think I just proved I'm too lazy to go any further than Kentish Town :pac:

Next for me is Machine Head on Friday, cannot wait.

As for next year, nowt as yet.

Gettin hitched in July so I fear my gig outings will have to be very selective.

Nobody that's been announced to date that I'm dying to see anyway.

    Oh congrats Business Cat! :D

Next up for me is Kreator/Arch Enemy on Saturday. After that will be Goatwhore in April assuming that goes ahead, will probably have to take it easy on going to gigs for the next while for the sake of the bank balance.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 14,846 ✭✭✭✭Liam McPoyle

Anyone that's flyin solo tonight, I'm headin to the Oval around half 6 for a pre gig tipple or 3 with a non boardsie mate and I think catching up with a boardsie and a mate of his so feel free to drop me a pm.

Hopefully this isn't veering into zombie thread territory but I figured some of the people following this might be going. I'll be going to Carcass, Napalm Death etc. tomorrow in Vicar Street if anyone wants to meet up in there, I'll most likely head straight in for the first band rather than going to a pub beforehand.
