    Used Munster Joinery from Cork.

They have a local rep up here and an installation team aswell.

Had no bother at all with them and was happy with the end result.

Can findthe docs I had with their contact details, but i'm sure if you google
    them you will find them.

Just spotted the above thread which might interest you.
I got mine from Grogan & Currid in Drumkeerin a few years ago and had no problem with product or service. Their no. is in the book.

    Grays Joinery down in Finisklin.

    Sound bucks. Good work.

Put in my own front door.

    In the book...

Munster Joinery I would recommend them.

When building my own house I had a lot of unusual spec windows and they were the only ones who could provide a solution and at a reasonable price.

Top after sales service to..I had a problem with one door and was it replaced no problem.

Just thought I'd post an update to how things went for me in my hunt for a good door installer/supplier.

As I said in my OP, Senator Windows were never an option here. Despite multiple attempts to talk to a Rep via email, phones messages left ect. No one ever bothered their arse contacting me.

I already had Munster Joinery windows installed and their Sligo Rep contacted me the next day after I phoned their head office. All was looking good, he was off for a week and was going to call around when he was back at work. Six weeks later and I assumed the guy must have died because I never heard from him again.

So just by chance I found the right guys - McMullanODonnell windows and doors specialists. Funnily enough I was checking out stoves at the time, when I drove into the Toberbride Business Park in Collooney. I thought from a distance they were a stove centre.

So it was pure luck really that I found these guys. After chatting to the receptionist and having a look around the showroom I left my details with her. Two hours later the boss was in my house and an absolute gent he is. I ended up getting a new front door and french doors.

The french doors weren't part off the equation at the start. But when I saw the superior quality and strength of their Goliath doors over my existing Munster Joinery doors I knew I had to get them in. It was like comparing a single glazed door to the doors of a bank vault

I am the kind of person that will examine everything very closely and if I find or see something I don't like, then I quickly raise a red flag. But again I have two say the two installers were excellent, their workmanship was immaculate and they left the house spotless when they left. When they gave me a day and a start time for the work, they arrived 15 minutes ahead of schedule.

After they left, their boss rang me about 30 minutes later and asked was I satisfied with the doors and the standard of workmanship. This totally impressed me I have to say. So I really can't recommend them highly enough. And if any of you guys are looking at doors/windows in the future, these are the guys to go to. Feel free to PM me if you want further details.

Mc Mullan are really good... I've used them a lot on jobs around Sligo.

Munster joinery are middle of the road & over-rated. They get a lot of business simply because most people never bother to look past the main suppliers of doors & windows and some of their products are shoddy enough.

It's great to see there are still some decent businesses out there.

Thing about doors an windows is it all depends about how much you want to pay.

A lot of housing estates I have been in were fitted with the cheapest windows etc possible at the time they were built so of course they are going to be drafty, need replacing after a few years etc

Compared to the once off houses where you see triple glazing, aluminum frames or high quality pvc frames which will survive the test of time.

Agree. Cheapest windows but also cheap and quick installation. I saw many windows (even triple glazed) fitted on silicon only without any insulation around the frame, lack of screws and brackets. After few seasons the draught coming not only between sash and frame but also around the window frame, under the window board etc. So installation is even more important than windows quality.
