Or you could get the same model from Amazon for roughly the same price (maybe few cent less) with the benefit that the shipping is faster and tracked, plus you can add low value items to your order and get free shipping for them. Easier to return if it breaks.

I agree + ibood customer service (if it exists) is ****e beyond belief. Emailed them on 3 separate occasions and never once got a reply.

Last straw was when they sent me a guitar hero guitar without any packaging at all 2 weeks before xmas and the child himself took delivery of it. Twas meant be be an under the tree present from you know who.

I bought the same one on amazon.co.uk two months back for €52 with free delivery.
No exactly a bargain you have there.

Yup, and was it advertised here? Think that's what prompted me to check

    Dear Mr/Ms,

On the 6th of November 2010 you have ordered one or more “Seagate
Expansion Portable 500GB 2.5” Hard Disk(s). Unfortunately our supplier is
unable to deliver the “Seagate Expansion Portable 500GB 2.5” any longer.
    They've offered 2 choices:

    Option 1

Our supplier will provide us with another Hard Disk instead of the one you
have ordered on our website. Our supplier will deliver us two different
Hard Disks, one of them is the “Seagate FreeAgent Go 500 GB zwart” and
the other one is the “Seagate FreeAgent Go Flex 500 GB zwart”. Both
Hard Disks are of a better quality and newer models than the one you have
    ordered on our website.

Because we will receive a limited amount of both Hard Disks we will send
the Hard Disks to our customers at random. Therefore it is impossible to
give us your preference on which Hard Disk you would like to receive. We
expect you to receive the Hard Disks in week 48.

    Option 2

If you do not agree with the solution offered in option 1 and your product
has not been shipped yet, you can choose to cancel your order without cost.
If you choose to cancel your order you can do this on our website in the
“My iBOOD” section, you can get to this section by logging in to your
account. We will reimburse you for the full amount of your order including
the shipping costs within 5-10 workdays. This will be reimbursed to the
account with which you have paid for your order.

Anyone else get this that ordered ??

I got this earlier too. Replacements seem ok to me. I just needed usb-powered drive.

Just got this mail myself, ordered 3 of them, so I don't like my odds of getting 3x new ones (whatever they might be, Google couldn't find them, just found this thread!).
Sounds good, week 48 should be first in Dec, right?

Jasus, I love the site, despite its shortfalls. More than makes up for it in other ways.

    Anyway, BOT ;)
