Bad time to emigrate to Oz?

    Looking for some advice..

I had been planning to emigrate to Australia around August/September this year.

I've been saving for months and had planned to hand in my notice around June or July and head over and find a new job/start a new life over in Oz. I have dual citizenship and so wouldn't have to worry about work visas etc.

However, with everything that has happened over the past few months with the pandemic I'm unsure about what to do. I was thinking about waiting a few months and seeing how things pan out but I really want to leave my job I am not happy in. My main concerns are (i) not knowing how long this pandemic will go on for, (ii) going over and ending up under lockdown in a foreign place and (iii) not being able to find a job if the economy takes a big hit.

Does anyone have any advice on if I should wait this out and see how things progress or what the situation is like on the ground over there.

    Thanks.

I'd wait until lockdowns are lifted everywhere, and look at the work situation then.

Unemployment is very high here at the moment and likely to be like that for quite a while. Unless you have a guaranteed job or enough money to get buy for 6 months I would not consider it in 2020.

Thanks for the advice. What part of Oz are you in out of interest?

I am in Victoria, about an hour or so from Melbourne.
