Hi all, So my brother collapsed at work last week. He was brought to the GP who referred him to a specialist in the hospital. So it's looking like he had Marfan syndrome all along. He's 21, I'm it's good that we got it early and, it's looking like he had the hearth problems as well, unfortunately. I don't know what to say, I am really worried about him. :(

So, I am looking for peoples general advice and reassurance that everything will be okay... :(

Of course you are worried, it is very difficult to see someone you care about become sick. It sounds a bit hard but worrying is not going to improve his situation, you need to be strong and confident for him. I don't mean dismissive of his issues, but positive.

Wait until he has a full diagnosis, and medication and treatment have been decided on, it could well be something he can live with as a minor inconvenience - I have some personal experience of this - or of course it could be a bigger issue but there is no point anticipating it until you know. At least the problem has been identified and can be dealt with. I hope your brother is back to normal again quickly, best wishes to you both.
