I've a question about surgical costs.
My father in law attended a private clinic for cataract surgery today only for it to be unsuccessful, and it requires a further surgery in four to six weeks.
We spent roughly 2800 euro today and we expected that to be the total cost of the treatment.
Now, we are looking at the same procedure again, so can we expect to have to pay the same sum all over again?
The point is moot, I guess, given that he has to have the follow up treatment in order not restore some function to the affected eye.
Anyway, if anyone has any insights, no pun intended, let me know.

There is unfortunately never a 100% chance of success with any surgery/medical treatment. One of the drawbacks of going private is that you will have to all the costs. Would suspect the second op may not be as expensive but it could be even more depending on how things go.
Sorry and hope all goes well in the end.
