Vanilla are planning an update to the site on April 24th (next Wednesday). It is a major PHP8 update which is expected to boost performance across the site. The site will be down from 7pm and it is expected to take about an hour to complete. We appreciate your patience during the update.

    Hi there
    I write to inform you of an exciting offer now available for 100% fully funded training in the Certified European Passive House Designer Programme. Funding is provided through the Labour Market Activation Fund.

    This completely free training is delivered by our team at the Passive House Academy and is directed at people who have been unemployed for 3 months or over. All tutoring, handouts and even the exam fee is provided at no cost to the Participants.

    First day over, very interesting so far, the morning was presented by our own sinnerboy, he had the difficult of making sense out of the whole thing and gave a good overview of the basic passiv haus principles!!:D

    Can you share your opinion on the course? I am thinking about doing it, have been interested in passive design for a while.

    I just finished the second three training days, its very tough going!!! The exam is not untill april and thats going to be tough but i definately would reccomend the course, its very very good and well presented but theres a huge ammount of stuff in it, remembering it all will be tough!!!I would definately reccomend the course.

    Finally got the results today and I've passed thank god!! I would highly reccomend anyone who is elligible to try and do the course if the funding is still available for it!!

    More free passive house designer courses for EGF qualified applicants
    This may be relevant to you or someone you know?

    EGF Funding for Free places on the CERTIFIED PASSIVE HOUSE DESIGNERS course with the Passive House Academy

    Who is eligible for support from EGF?

    To be eligible for support from the EGF individual redundant workers must meet a number of conditions. In the case of redundant construction workers they must have:

    " been made redundant between 1st July 2009 and 31st March 2010

    " worked in one of three specified sectors within the overall construction sector:
    o construction of buildings - NACE 41;
    o specialised construction services - NACE 43;
    o architectural and engineering services - NACE 71.

    " been identified in one to the three approved EGF Construction Applications

    All redundant workers eligible for support under the three EGF Construction Programmes will have been notified of their eligibility by a letter from the Department of Education and Skills. They will also have been provided with an EGF Eligibility Number.

    The Passive House Academy's 'Certified Passive House Designer' Course is fully recognised and accredited to be supported by the EGF fund. Please see the attachment for details of how to apply for the EGF funding for the course if you are eligible.
