Why is such a serious charge in the district court?

Wasn't he the same guy nabbed by the Paedophile catchers in England a few years ago?

Edit: yeah same guy back in 2018 in Leeds.

Everything starts in the District Court.

A wait of six years before this got to court is not ideal. You want people fearing the swift hand of justice. Lucky the guy is still alive.

    Fair enough.

    Fair enough.

sexual assault is an indictable offence and can be dealt with either in the district or in the circuit court. Three parties have the choice - the judge, the accused and the dpp. If any one of them elect circuit court then that's where it goes.
that's a simplified version of it anyway.

This case has nothing to do with his workplace.

Honestly this kind of sht is endemic from men who enjoy kids in a certain way.

Rarely hear about females doing the same thing. WTF is it all about.

"There was evidence he travelled regularly for work to various jurisdictions including the Philippines, Vietnam, Indonesia and Thailand, Detective Garda Doyle said." I hope his details have been circulated to police forces worldwide to see if he shows up himself in child pornography

Caught by a sting in Leeds, served some time in the UK. Gardai obviously weren't going to leave it at that, looks like a lot of research and searching through history on and off line has resulted in further evidence of grooming and pedophilia at home and abroad.

Fair play to them, these predators are any parents worst nightmare. Hopefully they keep tapping away and bring a healthy book to the DPP that puts him away for a long while & keep him from being someones neighbour. Listening to the Where is George Gibney podcast really sheds some light on the damage these men can do to lives.

Interesting side story that he was the secret producer Tweeting to bring the broadcasting company in to disrepute.

He knows the meaning of disrepute now.

No rumour about it, he's been named.

    Oh right.

Is it confirmed he was the secret producer

I remember the interest those tweets had at the time.
