"This forum used to be called Game Recording, what happened?"

Well Game Recording has simply been renamed to the Gaming Vids & Streaming forum. So all of the content that was here when the forum was called Game Recording, is still here, and nothing has been lost or removed. You can still use this forum for any discussion related to game recording.

"Why the change?"

Video content creation has become huge in the gaming world. We wanted to open up a little and embrace the content creation community by giving individuals a little slice of boards to broadcast their own content. Now, people can increase their exposure by having their own full thread to broadcast their content, rather than it being restricted to a single thread for everyone, which is how it used to be.

"Are there rules for this, or is it a free for all?"

It is not a free for all, and there are rules to be followed. Please read the forum charter which describes exactly the rules for everyone. While it's great that Boards can assist its members with increasing their exposure, we don't want this goodwill to be abused, so this is why we need to have rules. Such will prevent spam, and increase the quality of what we see here in The Video Dome.

"Can any type of video be posted in the Gaming Vids & Streaming forum?"

No, the subject here is gaming or games related videos. I don't think anyone here wants to see the forum fill up with everything from dashcam videos to gardening tips. This forum is located in the Computer Games category, and as such, that will dictate the content available for discussion here.

"Can I post in the threads here, to comment on videos?"

Absolutely, discussion is what we want from this, so post away. The only thing we ask is that you don't post your own videos in another persons thread - to post your own videos, you will need your own thread to do so. Have a read of the charter where it is explained how to get your own thread. Otherwise however, discussion and chat are very welcome in any thread.

"Can I post my favourite Youtubers videos here?"

The Video Dome is for content creators own material, so no, we would like everyone to post only their own content. This forum would fill up with random videos very quickly otherwise, so please stick to your own original content. There is a single thread here where users can post up their favourite videos from other youtubers/twich users etc, if they'd like to share with others.
