We can hope that the heat causes some problems to the tires and Engine performance . it would be good if there was a serious mix up this weekend . Redbull maybe on their home track . Its a short Track as well , I would hope that this helps in qual to keep some of the cars closer to the front like Mclaren who had a really good go last week . Bar any thing major happening I cannot see past Merc .

This is the first race this year I will not be watching live . ( Munster Final to go to, plenty of drama there )

    18 Lance Stroll Racing Point 27 +1.918
    19 George Russell Williams 28 +1.967
    20 Robert Kubica Williams 28 +2.827

    FP1 over .
Stuff from the commentary , Mclaren look good with Sainz but he is starting at the back of the Grid along with Albon for engine upgrades.

Oddly Russell did well as he was only a tenth off Kimi , Ignoring Stroll as he used Hard tires for the session where as Kimi and Russell were both on soft .

Other note would be Ferrari times were set on Medium Tires only everyone else at the top were using Soft . maybe thats something

Ferrari 2 more none soft tyres than merc. I guess merc will protect them for race

Lots of front wing damage going on through P1 and P2. Hope everybody brought a few spares!

Jaysus, 2 red flags and big crashes for Max and Bottas.

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,868 ✭✭✭Joeface

FP2 seems like fun , Vettel off the same turn as Max but only damages his tyres

Sainz took all brand new power unit components so starts from the back and Albon has a 15 place penalty for new engine & MGU-K

FP2 time sheet. Bit a mix up because of crashes at least.
Bottas changed parts in Fp1 cause of an oil leak and now after his crash . wonder will he have penalty of any sort for extra parts need.

At the back however bleak it is for Williams , Kubica is making it look bleaker or making Russell look awesome over a second between them.

Looks like the sausage kerbs are doing their job, teams complaining as expected.
And hot on Sunday, but very low danger of thunderstorm, what could have even be more exciting

He was on the slower (medium) tyre and did not get to complete a second fast lap in P2.

    9 front wings died between fp1 & fp2 +
Verstappen damaged his rear wing and Bottas did fair amount of damage to the front in general and Stroll minor damge to his floor.

The track itself is taking no shít from drivers. These kerbs should be at all tracks. This might actually be an exciting weekend.

Hülkenberg gets new engine +5 grid spots.

Looks like a competitive race. The top teams close together and with the heat there is hope to end the Mercedes win streak

Magnussen new gearbox +5 like Hulkenberg. Albon will be P20 and Sainz P19.

It's a nice circuit to race around in Gran Turismo Sport.

Same in F1 2018- nice flow to it

Is this looking like a Hamilton pole followed complete shock from the whole Mercedes team?

Hamilton should be penalised. Stone wall pen for me. You can't drift across a corner like that

Well done to the Alfa drivers.

Call me cynical but I think Magnussen did that on purpose. He asked in the radio what position nhe was in and who was behind him.

He's into Q3 as a result of that

Seems like the kind of guy who would do that as well
