Doesn’t the car have deadlocks? Maybe there’s a different procedure for arming the alarm/deadlocks than a single button press ?

  • Registered Users Posts: 5,713 ✭✭✭masterboy123

Hmm... Not sure about deadlocks. How do I check this?
We just pressed Lock button thrice and still no alarm.

Do you not have a brochure of it? or maybe have a look at the online brochure.
Surely it would say the spec of the car in one of them.

    Peace and long life.

Could someone confirm if the new Tucson is fitted with security alarm?

A friend bought Tucson hybrid comfort plus. We left the window open, locked the car from outside and then opened the door via window entry. No alarm!!!

That's very unusual. Even the humble Avensis had an alarm.

  • Registered Users Posts: 5,713 ✭✭✭masterboy123

I checked the brochure, no mention of alarm.

The user manual is for different countries and says it depends on the model you have.

Dealer says all hyundai cars have alarm.

    The brochure is piss poor.

Usually Hyundai alarms don’t work for 30 seconds after you set them.

Well wear with it. I hope you enjoy many years safe driving in it.

Nice one, well ware. What color is that? Is that the dark night?
    How’s the electric tail gait?

  • Registered Users Posts: 5,713 ✭✭✭masterboy123

Yes, it's all dark knight colour.

Re: electric tail gate, I have to press the "open boot" button thrice to open and thrice again to close.

Plus there is also a button attached on the boot door to close it.

Plus if I press "unlock door" button on driver side 3x then you can open/close from driver side also.

    Overall its a neat work.

    Nice one.

Also I emailed Hyundai about the lack of wireless car play and apparently it’s due to a licensing issue between Apple and the sat nav software provider. The exec model doesn’t have sat Nav and that’s why it has wireless CarPlay. They are not sure if/when this will be resolved.

  • Registered Users Posts: 5,713 ✭✭✭masterboy123

    Thanks for this info!!

Could I check with you if the ambient lights are only under the infotainment system and door storage space?

I was hoping there will be strip of lights running under the floor area also.

    Well wear Masterboy123.

Good luck with it, looks great.

Wanted to check with new Tucson owners if there is ambient lighting at the rear seats?
And how are you finding the music system at the rear seats?

Anyone here having issues connecting android auto wirelessly in an exec model? Mine is giving an error saying wireless projection not supported but it works fine wired.
I brought it back to the dealer yesterday to see if I was just doing something wrong and the mechanics phone gave the same error and we both got the error on the same spec car just delivered from the factory.
Dealer said they would log a ticket with hyundai and get back to me.

I think that's a thing with them where it just doesn't work and it's not intended to, a dispute between software producers or something, even though it does work on the lower spec models.

Ya that's the issue with exec plus because it has in built maps and there is an issue between the 2 softwares but the exec is advertised that it supports android auto wireless.

I suspect it maybe related and the factory aren't enabling the wireless on any of the exec cars because of this hence why I was asking if anyone got it working.

I have Executive plus model and they don't have wireless android auto. I read somewhere it has to do something with the software, but my car does have navigation and blue link services.

You should get on top with the dealer because Executive model is advertised as having wireless car play.

I have driven 600 km so far but hybrid battery system is never fully charged. It stays between 40% & 60%.

Is this normal? Petrol hybrid model here.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,768 ✭✭✭youngblood

For those who bought the hybrid, what are the advantages you've noticed since buying it?

  • Registered Users Posts: 5,713 ✭✭✭masterboy123

Just saw the latest price list on Hyundai's website and saw this new Premium Plus version at €48,745.
I wonder if it's plug in hybrid version.

Not with that tax band, should be €140 for the PHEV.

€48,745 for a hyundai now each to their own and all that but thats ridiculous, its a small suv to

  • Registered Users Posts: 5,713 ✭✭✭masterboy123

I was getting same features on Merc GLC for €68,000. I bought Tucson at 45,000 and took it as a bargain :D

It doesn't start at that price to be fair.
