    getting this at the mo....

but like all things in life it does vary....and depends on location location location etc. But in my case it achieves far better speeds than my old Ripwave ever did, usually max download of 0.60mb when I was lucky.

I'm lucky to be near a mast.....but even so I get quite a lot of disconnections (at times) but still think its brilliant...two months on anyway.

Cool. You're getting much better results then the competitors usually provide :)

There are not very many Meteor 3G data customers yet. So service is good.
Speed can be 3Mbps and simply five more regular users in your area can knock speed down to 0.3Mbps.

I have both a vodafone and meteor usb stick and meteor definitely has the more consistent speed, in my area anyway.

Both I-HSPA from different servers - signal is still unstable between HSDPA and I-HSPA...Any usage over a couple of minutes forces the signal from I-HSPA to HSDPA which I think means that the I-HSPA is being hogged up by users closer in

Correct me if I am wrong

Meteors latency is horrific in comparison three in my area and the ping is comparible with o2 EDGE - iPhone puts my e180 to shame modem wise when I was using my three data sim in it for modem purposes so I think the tests are comparible in terms of the hardware used....

    896167943.png

    896170020.png

HSDPA signal in terms of meteor - no I-HSPA - will unlock the e180 and see if i can put the meteor sim into it and give you a better mark up on meteor

boht on I-HSPA - ping is average 50-100ms higher than usual which means the site is over contended again !

It definately is!! I got 3 mobile broadband on day one and i only got 0.1 mbs at peak time and only 0.3 mbs at 2am!!! It really was horrible. I returned it back under the Guarentee.

you would be right there they have got alot better this past few years..notice a huge improvement in service since i first used 3 is 2007 :D:D

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,529 ✭✭✭warlikedave

they seem to be over contending areas tho - im in a rural enough area but am getting poor speeds and connection no matter - too many uisers and not enough bandwith and not enough I-HSPA signal to go around - stuck on unstable basic HSDPA

no consistancy in the damn service at all

    903632614.png

It is an improvement on what it was 2 years ago but it alot worse than what it was 6 months ago - all the same - it is still not up to scratch - another visit to comreg :(

Rural area may i ask? with repeater and few houses in a few miles - if the trend of results is correct?

low contention sites in rural areas with I-HSPA upgrade seem to be boosting threes performance over the last while...still its an improvement

the mast im on is contended witht eh max recommended load of users for its capicity (55% according to a three tech rep)

Am on 5 bars of HSDPA - no sign of I-HSPA
    904619622.png

True test of improvements will be city/town or suburban (population centres and surrounding surburbs) areas results in conjested areas to see how the service works with a full load to handle user wise
