A facebook advert for tesco says

*In-store and online until Friday, 9th March

However when you click on "shop now" in the same ad there are no 5 for 5 available.

The yellow label in the shop last night still had 6-3-18 as the end date.

the "medium" eggs which were 4.49 and 5 for 5 are now 2.49. Online anyway.

Cadbury Extra Large Creme Egg Easter Egg 497G Tesco €8
    and that is half price.

It has 5 eggs. You get 5 of the small ones for a fiver, with 1 egg each and overall weight is 690g.

I saw a guy with several kids and I think they were picking a few each, far better value and probably less likely to demolish the same amount of chocolate in 1 sitting.

Also more variety in being able to get several small ones.

I saw a selection of chocolates in this one in debenhams. http://www.debenhams.ie/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/prod_10052_10001_311100218299_-1

Surprised more do not do this, like christmas selection boxes.

you might have missed the boat. I think last year all those offers stopped around now, i.e. ~2 weeks before easter sunday.

5 for 5? or maybe you just mean offers, the offers will continue, many are bogus, but the really good offers like 3/3 and 5/5 are unlikely to be seen again.

it was defintiely not in my tesco on saturday, it was full of really big fancy eggs, only a handful of small ones available.

In an earlier post I had cut & pasted
    Any 5 For 5.00 Save 7.45 valid from 7/3/2018 until 9/3/2018

And do not remember seeing the 5 for 5 after that date.

Online it is showing 3 for 5

Local LIDL (Wexford) had them marked down yesterday with handwritten signs to 1.29 - maybe in response to ALDI. Def had Smarties and KitKat, think they had Cadbury's Creme Egg and umm Buttons I think.

The lidl catalogue I got yesterday had something like "check instore for prices" written about the easter eggs. Like they will not necessarily be priced the same in all shops.

the mediums show as 3 for €5

There are large Easter eggs like Maltesers and Galaxy for €4 in Aldi. Seem to be €6 everywhere else.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,578 ✭✭✭amber2

ALDI reduces medium eggs to €1 today, mars, kit Kat, buttons and cream egg ones.

Edit * Just got some all of the above reduced to 99c from €1.29.

That's done on items they know there will be a price war on and as the catalogue is printed a few weeks in advance they don't know what price will be charged.

Easter Eggs are now a loss leader and are used to attract shoppers.

Exactly, plus all offers are the same in every lidl in Ireland, except for items with 30% off sticker

I’ve seen them in tesco, dunnes and Heatons. Both the large DC kinder surprise and the giant kinder ones.

But they seem to sell out pretty quick as soon as they hit the shelves.
So any live heavily stocked sightings would be good :p

I’ve seen them in SuperValu and Tesco as well. Spar beside the 5 lamps had a shelf full of them about an hour ago as well.
