Hi, I recently bought a van for work. I have full clean license for 11 years and flawless driving history under my own policy for around 7 years but unfortunately have not been a named driver or policy holder in the past 2-3 years after my last car died. I did not realise that a 2 year gap puts you back at square one in quotes, otherwise I would have just put my name down on someone elses policy for the sake of staying visible. As a result the cheapest quotes I have from multiple brokers and companies start at 4,600 euos / year and go up to 6,300. THATS BANANAS! I already looked into registering the van to someone else and putting myself as named driver with no luck. Don't suppose anyone has any advice or tips?!

named driver experience isn't legally valid, some companies might take it into consideration where others won't. but since it's been over 2 years, you are back to square one anyway
