    Week 1: -2lbs
    Week 2: -4lbs
    Week 3: -2lbs
    Week 4: -3lbs
    Week 5: STS
    Week 6: -1lb
    Week 7: -1lb
    Week 8: -1.5lbs
    Week 9: +1lb
    Week 10: -1lb

Been super busy with work and I didn’t get a chance to post here lately, so 2 weeks ago I gained a pound which was down to dinner out with work and Pancake Tuesday
    All the same week.

This week I’m back on track and I lost that stupid pound :pac:

Wish I had the mojo I had back in January I’m definitely losing interest fast :pac:

    Up 4lbs this week!

I started back in the gym yesterday. Did a full weights session and really pushed it. I think chilled out in steam room for what I think was a bit too long. I was still roasting at 2:30am and unable to sleep. I will try a run tonight and get to bed early.

    Week 1: -2lbs
    Week 2: -4lbs
    Week 3: -2lbs
    Week 4: -3lbs
    Week 5: STS
    Week 6: -1lb
    Week 7: -1lb
    Week 8: -1.5lbs
    Week 9: +1lb
    Week 10: -1lb
    Week 11: STS
    Week 12: -2lbs

So after 12 weeks I’m 16lbs down. Feb and Mar have been slow going but still moving in the right direction.

Other than Pancake Tuesday week I haven’t gained. So one gain in 12 weeks isn’t bad at all.

I didn’t even celebrate waffle day this year that’s how committed I am to being back on track and it worked with losing 2 pounds.

Jeez, Loughc, it's okay to let yourself go now that she's married you. :p
Seriously though, well done!! I didn't partake in Waffle Day either, because it was on a Monday and I just didn't get around to it. I might make waffles and hot-cross buns Easter weekend. If I'm going to be bad, I might as well be bad!!

I started getting into the habit of having Dominos every weekend. The last few weekends, instead, I've made a homemade pizza with Lo-Dough and either home-made wedges, or Slimming World frozen oven chips. I usually have chicken, peppers, onions and sweet-corn as the toppings.

A whole pizza and chips, for only 2 syns. And actually nicer than Apache/Dominos. :D

Oh very good! How was the Lo-Dough? I’ve heard nothing but good things.

    It's great as a pizza base! :)
I've never used it as a wrap or anything though.

Reading back over what I missed in the last few weeks!

I was down 3lbs the week after I was in hospital but up 2 the week after - no surprises as I literally couldn't make a cup of tea, never mind a meal & Mr. CL, who excels at many things, is a liability in the kitchen :p

Back on track since Thursday, but had a bit of a blip yesterday with Mother's Day, but back on it again today! Have a friend's wedding on Saturday that I desperately wanted a stone off for but it hasn't happened. But c'est la vie!

Just over 100 days to our own wedding so really need to start knuckling down! Back to the gym tomorrow! :D

Bizarrely having had no chance to get any exercise in for the last 2 weeks & having not really watched what I've been eating (though havent eaten badly to be fair) I weighed myself this morning for the first time in a while & was down 3 lbs meaning the 5 i'd put on over christmas are now gone & i'm back to my pre christmas holidays weight... shame it only took 3 months:D

The clocks going forward were always a great marker for me to get the finger out exercise wise & I'll be doing that as per usual again this year, no more excuses, 7 weeks to the kids communion & 15 to my holidays.... half a stone to lose to get back into my speedo's ;)

Great suggestion for weight loss is fasted cardio. If you can go 18 hours without eating and then do a cardio based workout, it burns a significant amount of fat.

Even fasted cardio along the lines of eat dinner, don't snack afterwards, sleep and workout in the morning is good. It doesn't hit the 18 hour mark where your body burns fat at a much higher rate, but it is significantly better than cardio when you've eaten recently.

Note: If you do choose to engage in regular fasting, you should also try and engage in regular resistance training as fasting can cause the loss of fat and lean muscle mass. With regular resistance training you lose a lot less lean muscle mass.

I dabble in Intermittent Fasting too and find it great. For anyone who's a binge eater or emotional eater, I'd recommend it purely because it stops me from boredom/emotional eating.

Still tipping along here. Been up and down for a few weeks because of events going on (birthdays, mother's day, family parties). My 30th is next week so I'm not expecting a loss for another 2 weeks or so.

Seeing a specialist next week too who says she'll be able to sort my back out enough (in conjunction with Botox injections) that I'll be able to finally get back to exercise and lifting :D super excited for that!

I have been terrible since my youngest was born, loved the gym before work and running but its all gone now. Work commitments have ramped up too.

I have done maybe 6-10 runs since late Jan when the little one was born. Then after hitting the gym three weeks ago I noticed a rash on my back, probably from a sweaty bench so ignored it, then it was under my arm, but I though it was chaffing from the singlet I run in.

Then I felt like muck and the rash turned to blisters, quite a lot of them so last Sunday I went to the Doc and was informed I have shingles. So pretty tired. I'm involved in work that has immovable times-frames so I am trying to get everything done this week before I fly home on Thursday so I know I wont hit the gym or run, nor have the energy to.

I need to start looking after myself was the Docs advice. I have to do a lot of BD with work and that is almost 100% done in a bar, its more the tiredness of starting at 7:30 and getting home at 10/11 or later after BD at least two days a week. Plus workload as some projects are coming to their busiest time.

Anywho, sleep and clean eating is the prescription.

Oh shingles is meant to be awful, you have my sympathy. My little lad is six months and I tried going back to box fit and fitting in workouts last month and it just couldn’t happen. He’s still up several times a night for an hour or two

Slimming world is working for me. I’m nearly 10% off body weight and 4lbs off two stone lost so I’m delighted with the progress. Last week was a bit of a blip, had a terrible Sunday/Monday and ended up going up 1.5lbs but been back on it since and had a much better weekend so I’m feeling positive going into the week (even if my period is due this weekend!)

And added bonus/aside is that my picky four year old is eating better because I am. There’s more fruit in the house so he has expanded to melon from just apples. He’s eating cheese and things like homemade pizza when he makes it with me so I’m much happier with him. My husband is also eating with me for main meals and mostly eating a proper breakfast too. Just needs to sort his snacking (Chocolate) and lunch (deli) and the weight would be dropping off him. Much happier with the household now

My OH is at home for the past few weeks, when she returns she starts with a personal trainer so I will be eating what she is. That should help me out a bit. I really hope the personal trainer is found of haribo.

Ah lads I think I have put on more weight rather than lost it. Myself and OH have lost our way a bit over the past month or so, really hoping to get back to healthy eating this week and weekend and back to the gym a few times a week. Myself and the weighing scales are not talking at the moment :D

Fingers crossed you get over the shingles quickly Jude, never had them myself but have heard horror stories about them, sounds most unpleasant indeed.
PLenty of rest & eating healthy will help with more than the shingles though, remember weight loss is at least 80% what you eat, the exercise helps but the diet is key.

Cheers DvB. My old ethos was eat anything I like and not gain weight as I would hit the gym at least 4 times a week and go on runs with a min of 6km at least twice a week.

I have the same diet but none of the exercise now. Plus pints. I know what needs to be done and will get cracking when I get back from my holiday back in Ireland.

Wasnt far off my thinking up until a few years ago, stopping competitive sport really caugt up on me though & I ballooned. Managed to lose it again through diet & increased exercise but maintaining a generally balanced diet has stopped it going back on. As I got older I realised losing it was tougher so try to just keep it off nowadays, dont think I@d have the will to lose stones again.

Enjoy the holiday anyway! Thats the law!!!:D

Get well soon, Jude! Get a tonic into you!

  • Registered Users Posts: 3,795 ✭✭✭Jude13

    Cheers all.

Preach DvB. I got some bad injuries which I rehabbed in the club bar. Then moved position a few times to match what the scales said. Two games at hooker was enough for me to have a look in the mirror.

I will enjoy the holliers if I can smash my phone. A week in Dublin with the whole family. We have a nice Air bnb on the dart line. I shall bring my runners to run along the beach.

Depending on your buggy, lock the wheels on the front of the pram and bring baba with you! :D I used to run all the time with our first baby - she loved it!

She's a bit young for that, but I have a three wheeled jogger in mind for when her neck support is better. Buggy in hand and the dog harnessed to my waist.

Mind yourself Jude, I had Shingles myself a good few years ago now, it'll knock you on your butt so mind yourself! Get plenty of rest and fluids... the non-pints type :)

Another strong weight loss for me on Saturday just gone, completely undone by the binge session I had last night, I'd still feeling full now after it, totally wasn't worth it! :(

Oh well blow outs are needed every now and then, just need to get back on track this week.
