Got this developed in a different shop and not really happy with the quality in some of the rolls on the CD scans.
    Oh well!

I have not had the chance recently to document around where I live in photos, so was happy to get a few nice ones by the river - then I woke up. Pretty sad to have such a boring dream but more frustrating that it was not real! :p

I really like your portraits, could you give a quick run down on the analog gear you're using and your studio space (esp lighting, if any)?

I see you don't dev your own film, but what sort of post-processing do you do?

I have a shoot in Sept that I'm really excited about but I really need to practice.

On film, on some funny principle, I don't post process at all. My developer scanned as tiff and jpeg and that's it :)
I'm using a cheap Canon 35mm that I've had for yrs. I also have a Mamiya medium format but haven't taken it out in ages :(
For these images, I just shot my own bedroom.. I also have a cheap backdrop that I bought online from the UK.
The lighting for these ones was a one light set up: http://petapixel.com/2016/01/27/yongnuo-yn360-is-an-app-controlled-led-light-wand-for-just-62/ Yongnuo light wand.. it says it's 60 dollars but the battery is 40 quid or something just to note that.. but I like the light from it.
I shoot in studio for my paid work. I rent a studio on gardener street.
I also use soft boxes with flash guns.
I sometimes shoot natural light.. it all depends on which images you are talking about. I'm open to telling you set ups of any images if you want to ask.
    :)

A friend gave me a used roll of film to shoot double exposures on.
Neither of us knew what was on the roll and the frame lines didn't line up, but there are some fun images on it.

Oh, that's one of those rolls of 64t you gave me actually. The meter on the spottie F I was using is a bit wonky, and that film really -really- doesn't respond well to gross overexposure :-D

Hmmm, that's nice, never saw that before. It's a super-pan, SFX style film? Some IR senstivity? OTOH I do want to know what this means
The is not a re-spooled film. This is a discontinued film that has been given a second chance.

Is it new film? Or not new film? Whats the expiry date on those rolls? I don't like that cagey language, it's the kind of marketing gumph that the LSI are all too good at. Never outright lying* but ...

*except for that petzval thing, which just wasn't a petzval, but whatever.

which is, in turn, an Agfa emulsion IIRC. Rollei don't actually make any of their own films as far as I know, it's all rebadged Agfa, and distributed by Maco, who have the license to use the Rollei brand for films. It's complicated :-D

Well I thought I'd give film a go, I think I'll be using it now and then for a change of pace. May go learn how to develop my own film next.

I started taking photo's on film as a way to distract myself from bad news and have something to focus on waiting for test results.
You know, learning more about manual cameras taking some time, going out and taking the photos, then going to get them developed, the few days waiting for them to come back, uploading.
I have let it slip, and not been out taking any photos at all, and really should try and get back into it.
