    Need some help here, can anybody identify or tell me about this ruin located 1km west of the restored famine village of Cill Rialaig near Ballinskelligs, seems to be the ruins of some kind of settlement

    Learning as I go along (Error corrected & few more added)

    This is in fact Scrahanard Wedge tomb, (not Cappeen Wedge Cairn/Dolmen)
    Notice at the gate says Dolmen
    Scahanard Cairn & Standing stone are in the same field also known as Bealick
    Lackaduv wedge tomb is at the other side of the road on property owned by the same farmer, a very nice gent, loves to chat

    Seems there is 3rd Wedge tomb not too far away at
    51.96644N 9.0032W I will check this out

    Answering my own question, I've finally discovered that this is the Kilmashogue stone pair (sure enough, you can see the second stone in the distance near the trees to the left of the first stone). I had erroneously thought they were to be seen from Kilmashogue Lane not the Tibradden Road.

    popped up to fairy castle on two rock on saturday, its a shame that from the 3 cairns that overlooked dublin this is the only one that remains.

    Speaking of astral allignments earlier, this photo was taken at the back of the tomb at sunset about a month before winter solstice. So I think it's possible, given the position of the sun here, that there is/was a solstice alignment. I have no idea if it's confirmed or not, but perhaps it's just coincidence!
