Cricket's Irish roots, documentary on RTE 1 tonight.

Interesting programme this evening on RTE suggesting that Cricket may have origins in ancient Irish game of Catty, and developed through Irish soldiers in British military. Mr Caulfield certainly seems to show lots of similarities, and a number of the strange words in Cricket may have origins in Gaelic language. Any views?

I enjoyed it, a nice relaxing watch. Argument seems to have some merit but no idea if it's true or not. Nice way to pass half an hour anyway.
