Hi all,
Vanilla are planning an update to the site on April 24th (next Wednesday). It is a major PHP8 update which is expected to boost performance across the site. The site will be down from 7pm and it is expected to take about an hour to complete. We appreciate your patience during the update.

Car insurance

    Looking at buying a car. Did car tell check on it and it is fine. When looking at cost of insurance, I fill in the car reg I get refused insurance but when I put in car details manually I get a quote (I.e. not the reg). No reason given online. Any reason for this?

    Whats the reg and car model details you're putting in?

    It could be registered as a taxi.

    04D66546. It's a Toyota yaris. Definitely not a taxi 😂

    Does it have tax and an NCT? Some insurers check that

    Most likely just a glitch in the system. Give then a call on Monday and they should be able to sort it. I assume that it's the cheapest quote.

    One thing I noticed when looking for insurance for my Mother's car was that 3rd party only was multiples times more expensive than comprehensive, she has a 03.
