Wonder will any of the LM P1 cars finish at this rate

Possibilities of Rebellion to Win overall, who'd have thought that

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,861 ✭✭✭donspeekinglesh

If Porsche run trouble free the 2 should end up second.

Number 1 car, leader with engine problem

Like the Toyotas, he needs to crawl for a full lap back to pits

    Wouldn't be hopeful

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,861 ✭✭✭donspeekinglesh

Wow. And he's barely moving now. Only at the first chicane. Second place has taken two laps back already

It's going to be very tight for the 2 to get the laps back. An SC would be enough to stop him.

looks like only one lm p1 will have chance of podium... they're saying number 2 car mightn't have enough time to win... going to be close

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,861 ✭✭✭donspeekinglesh

The 1 has stopped and Lotterer is out of it trying to work on it.
The slow zone won't be helping the 2

  • Registered Users Posts: 29,995 ✭✭✭✭Ghost Train

funny that two toyotas and the porsche had their failures after just passing the pits. And none able to limp home for a lap

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,861 ✭✭✭donspeekinglesh

Hartley in the 2 now in second. Two laps behind.

Fairly handy too. If he can finish he wins. Forgot number 8 Toyota still out there. In tenth.

That #38 tail change was a mess. Lots of time lost.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,861 ✭✭✭donspeekinglesh

Onto the lead lap for the 2 now, with just over two hours to go.

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,351 ✭✭✭Arthur Daley

Gap of 3 mins 4. Needs to take about 7 seconds a lap and is easily taking it.

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,351 ✭✭✭Arthur Daley

Porsche is taking 12 seconds a lap. One minute gap now, so by 1pm Porsche should have the lead, and an hour to nurse it home.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,861 ✭✭✭donspeekinglesh

15 second gap with 70 minutes to go

  • Registered Users Posts: 29,995 ✭✭✭✭Ghost Train

In the lead, wonder if the car can run without problems for another hour

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,861 ✭✭✭donspeekinglesh

The now second place 38 is having overheating problems. But it has two laps over third place.
The 8 doesn't look like it'll improve on 9th overall

Interesting last hour no one expected

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,487 ✭✭✭TheChrisD

Blue flags were shown for the #38 when the Porsche came to pass for the lead

The Porsche is 15 seconds a lap quicker, trying to fight that is madness

The 2 by a lap in the end.
    Fantastic finish in GTE Pro.

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,487 ✭✭✭TheChrisD

Terrible coverage by the TV director at the end. Suffered massively from "wife cam syndrome", barely showed GTE's last lap and completely missed/ignored the Ford getting past.

I hope Toyota can go on and win the WEC now.

Was there over the race weekend. You just don't predict Le Man's!
That GT battle between the Corvette and Aston Martin was amazing to witness in the stand at the finish line.

    seems kind of harsh

did notice them having to take off the engine cover to hit solenoid or maybe that was another team, did delay the pitstop quite a bit

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,861 ✭✭✭donspeekinglesh

That was them, and they got a penalty for it, as the driver is the supposed to start the car unaided.
I think what really got them in trouble was trying to cover up the hole in Parc Ferme. Might have been let away lighter otherwise.

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,252 ✭✭✭Sterling Archer

Best as for forgiveness than try to hide it, considering they were using a big metal pipe during pitstops

Porsche now pulled the plug on the LMP1 program. They will be gone at the end of 2017 what will leave Toyota alone for 2018.
