Volcanoes in Kerry

Have there ever been volcanoes in Kerry? The basis for might be a completely ridiculous question is that I find a lot of black and dark gray stones on the beaches around the Dingle peninsula that appear to be permeated by air bubbles - like lava rapidly cooling when it meets water.

Pumice can float, and be carried great distance on the ocean surface. Sometimes the wave action on the rock when it's at a beach or cliff can knock enough buoyancy out of it that it fails to continue floating and ends up sitting amongst the rest of the standard rocks on the coast.

The nearest accessible volcanic rock to the Kerry coastline is likely the basaltic intrusions around East Limerick/Pallasgreen, and then the Antrim region, but those are not going to drop pumice into the sea onto the Kerry coast.
