Can’t take any credit for it but I grew some sunflowers from seed and this one is up at 5 feet 4 inches and hasn’t even begun to think about blooming yet :)
Gonna keep a close eye on this one.
The others aren’t far behind but how tall can these get? I forget which variety they are

Anything from 2 feet to 12 feet depending on variety.

If they are sunflowers if you plant them more densely they kind of support each other. If I am ever bothered to upload pics to boards I'll show you what I mean.

Posted in another thread but figured I'd throw them in here. This year's little project really starting to take shape.

Wall is there years and it was an overgrown mess a couple of months ago. Spent the last while cleaning it up into a shrub border.

    Before but after a strim:

As of today with a few bits to be done in the next week:

That Alder hedge feels like it's on steroids. Clipped it back in winter and it's absolutely exploded again. It'll be getting obliterated in Feb..

  • Some recent bloomers, and an insect loving one!!!

So I seem to have a sunflower with two or three heads coming up under the main flower. Should I leave them be and see if they’d come through? Or will they even?

Don't think it really classifies as a garden'ing' photo but he did actually come out of the flowerbed behind him there :pac:

Curious fella yesterday morning. He wasn't fazed by me and hung around for 2 or 3 mins, pacing about, looked hungry.

Last night I left a bowl of cat food in the bed where he came out from. It was gone this morning. I'll have to dig out the trail cam.

Healthy looking fox, we have two that wait every evening (hiding in the bushes) for their spoils. They're gorgeous.

Sweet! I’ve a similar pond insert being used as a sand pit! just haven’t picked a spot yet. Are you going to plant or pave around it?
