Comrades - this week marks the 100th anniversary of the Bolshevik's revolution against the Kerensky's Provisional Government
    "
The 1917 October Revolution (“Red October”) was the last of the three great revolutions that transformed Russia from an imperial monarchy into a Communist state. In 1905, widespread rioting and unrest led Tsar Nicholas II to introduce a constitution and the “Duma” parliamentary assembly. His aim was to move towards a constitutional monarchy, and the measures succeeded in calming the mood temporarily.

Indeed. The Romanovs lasted three centuries, the gang that replaced them were booted out (along with their ideologies) in less than one century. And the present crowd arguably are considerably worse than the Romanovs. Mutatis mutandis and all that.

The unfortunates who have lived in that part of the world have never known real democracy. It will take many generations to evolve into what we regard as a modern democracy.
