Vanilla are planning an update to the site on April 24th (next Wednesday). It is a major PHP8 update which is expected to boost performance across the site. The site will be down from 7pm and it is expected to take about an hour to complete. We appreciate your patience during the update.

    Can't Buy Me Love vs She Loves You: Close, but I'd rather listen to CBML of the two.

    Day Tripper vs Savoy Truffle: Savoy Truffle has done really well and it's maybe the only example so far of a slightly underrated song getting a fair shake in the competition, instead of the usual of people voting for the things they recognise each time and not giving the lesser known tunes a fair hearing. But, Day Tripper has it beat here.

    Hey Jude vs From Me To You: We all know HJ inside and out, but it's still a superior song to FMTY, even if FMTY is pretty damn great in its own right.

    Group B -

    Hey Bulldog vs Nowhere Man: Y'all are nuts voting for Nowhere Man here, it's a grand song, but Hey Bulldog is an absolute fcking tune. It bloody well rocks!

    You've Got to Hide Your Love Away vs We Can Work it Out: YGTHYLA moves me a bit more.

    I'm Only Sleeping vs Don't Let Me Down: DLMD is one of my favourites, pure earthy, from-the-heart stuff and a total ear-worm to boot.

    Strange result there IMO. Nowhere Man was one of the comparatively weaker songs left in the competition - it's pretty forgettable next to the rest - and Hey Bulldog is an edgy attitude filled rocker that would still get a room absolutely going. In a straight fight the blander option seems to win out nine times out of ten.

    Totally disagree with you! Nowhere Man is a great Beatles song (clever lyrics, nice tune, nice sitar from George too), while Hey Bulldog is an alright throwaway track for the Yellow Submarine album. Nowhere Man could go further depending on which song it faces in the next round. She Loves You, on the other hand, has not stood the test of time and could easily be knocked out in the next round.
