They don't always get points, there's been a few contracts come out recently through the legal action. For example when they were negotiating with Roy Nelson back in 2013, Lorenzo Fertitta said

'I offered 9 fights 125+50 for regular bout, 500 flat for title fight, 500 plus ppv if defending. If ppv does 600k buys he makes 1.1m. Very fair offer.'

So in this case Roy would only get points if he was defending the belt, not just challenging and never mind getting anything for being Co-main. The UFC do not give out an extra cent they don't need to. If I was guessing, DC would definitely get points and very likely Nate would too, Pettis and Stipe I'd be doubtful.

Edit: Cletus has info above on it too.

Hasn't the ESPN deal completely changed how PPV points work now?

I could've sworn I read about fighters getting way less money from PPV since the ESPN deal

And I'm sure I heard this somewhere too, and was mentioned as a possible stumbling block in the Brock Lesnar negotiations.

Why would DC gain so much weight between the weigh in and fight??

Jesus Costa nearly gained back 30lbs

11lb isn't a massive amount to gain back really

But kind of pointless for him? Surely he doesn't fluctuate that much in weight naturally during a day?

None of them would, I assume they just do it as part of the process as they've been doing it so long. Probably helps them keep focused for the camp or something.

He was already 20lbs under the weight limit.

Could just be a psychological thing, he's been cutting weight all his life.

Yeah heavyweights cutting weight always seems silly to me. Why bother?

Only a few HWs have had to cut to make weight before. Lesnar, Struve, Lewis etc.

Yeah. I’d imagine he’s just sticking to the routine that works for him at LHW. Only change what you need to.

Just watched the prelims Cory Sandhagan looked very impressive, I like how there was a bit of a run on him in vegas sportsbooks too. Some jump in the rankings they put him up to 3rd !
