    A Century of Irish Radio 1900 to 2000 is a 595 page history of Irish radio through the decades. It tells how Ireland became the first nation in the world to be declared by radio, Sean McNeela who became the first man in the world to die on hunger strike having been convicted of pirate broadcasting, how pirate radio brought down a government, the importance of political pirates in Northern Ireland during the early years of the troubles and has the station histories of over 1000 Irish pirate radio stations. Written by broadcast historian Eddie Bohan who is also helping to curate the Irish Pirate Radio Exhibition and Archive at Dublin City University. The book is available in paperback or kindle on Amazon.

    This sounds fascinating. Advertising isn't allowed on this forum but this seems like it would be of genuine interest to radio fans. Will have a look for it in Eason later. Thanks for the heads-up.

    Well done Eddie!

    This book has been a long time in preparation and I am delighted to see that it is now finally published. I interviewed Eddie on several occasions over many years and the question of when the book might be published was always asked - but could never be answered, at the time.

    I am glad to see that the day has now finally arrived.

    Finding it hard to get this book - anyone know any book stores stocking the book ?
