Cuddys/Coadys of Brierfield and Kilbegnet/Dunamon?Galway Need someone with Roots Sub

    I am researching my grandfather's grandmothers family and may have found out that they came from kilbegnet/dunamon/fuerty area before they came to brierfield Co Galway But some things dont line up??.

    We know his Grand mother(Bridget) was born in Abt 1850 to a Patrick Cuddy and Elizabeth(Carr??)I know she also had a Brother Martin who died in brierfield(abt b1842-d1886).
    The reason I believe they came from the kilbegnet/dunamon/fuerty area is because I had a dna match 3rd cousin once removed(119cM) and I traced his family with some help from someone here back to fuerty parish booleybane/boulebane?(Possibly Patrick Cuddys brother Thomas through his daughters marriage record) I was looking at parish maps and Its possible that Glinsk parish is where they went as no matching people showed up in athleague parish records on findmypast.Ive looked through both of these and I found a match in glinsk for patrick cuddy marrying an Elizabeth Carr?(not sure on surname) in 19th feb1844

    Another reason, is where they lived in Brierfield (stevens) (from census ded is moyne https://tinyurl.com/y7bxc7ee) there are other cuddy names living there born about the same time as bridget .I also have names such as john and sarah cuddy sponsors for bridget children Im finding it hard to place them.

    Because the Cuddys were cottiers they may have moved abit but I havent looked at the Abbeyknockmoy parish records to rule out the possibility that bridget and martin were born in Abbey.Could someone help me out ?Could you look them records for Cuddys/Coadys if you have a roots ireland subscription.As I dont really have the money for it now i would really appreciate it. :)

    I found three baptisms in Kilbegnet that might be relevant. There's Martin baptised on 10th October 1845 born to Patrick Cuddy and Elizabeth Kean. Sponsors were Owen and Ester Curgon.

    Bridget was baptised on 12th February 1850 and her parents were Patrick Cuddy and Elizabeth (not recorded). Sponsors Thomas & Anne Mullen.

    Celia was baptised on 23rd October 1852 and her parents were Patrick Cuddy and Elizabeth (surname not recorded). Sponsors were Mareo and Bridget Crow.

    There's a marriage between Patrick Cuddy and Elizabeth Cane on 19th February 1844 in Kilbegnet. Witnesses were Darby Cuddy and Roger Fahy.

    There was a marriage between John Cuddy of Culleen and Bridget McGovern of Curlacken on 17 Feb 1898 in Kilbegnet Church. Only fathers were named with John and both fathers being farmers. Witnesses were Michael Cuddy and Mary Curley.

    Thank you so much,I thought it was either Cane/Carr I wasnt sure .I guess I should look through nli records instead of relying on findmypast anymore.

    Theres one more thing about Martins children (born in Brierfield,Abbeyknockmoy)

    My grand aunt whos 95 remembers pat coady (martins son) well but doesnt recall a bridget coady ,I ve looked through the records cant find anything

    Martin married honor mannion in 1880and he died in 1886, the last i saw of bridget cuddy is in the 1901 census ,could she have taken the surname fahy as her mother remarried after her father died?     Since a few of their neighbours were cuddys in brierfield stephens i think they maybe the reason they moved their as cuddy is not a common name in galway.I doubt ill figure what relation they were ,what do you think?
