Anyone got any recommendations for transport of a classic car to South Germany from Ireland ?

“And my existence, while grotesque and incomprehensible to you, generates funds to the exchequer. You don't want to acknowledge that as truth because, deep down in places you don't talk about at the Green Party, you want me on that road, you need me on that road. We use words like freedom, enjoyment, sport and community. We use these words as the backbone of a life spent instilling those values in our families and loved ones. You use them as a punch line. I have neither the time nor the inclination to explain myself to a man who rises and sleeps under the tax revenue and the very freedom to spend it that I provide, and then questions the manner in which I provide it. I would rather you just said "thank you" and went on your way. Otherwise I suggest you pick up a bus pass and get the ********* ********* off the road”

You have us intrigued. Surely you are not selling the RHD 996 to a buyer in Germany?

    How ouch ?

Galway-Dublin by transporter I was quoted €400 recently.
    Moved a car Limerick-Galway recently at €180.
We brought in an A6 from the UK a while ago on a shared truck (with about 6 others) and it was €375.

Have you priced commercial rates on ferries lately - they're gone through the roof.

Considering the distance and time involved Galway-Vienna I think it's fair value. And, the more expensive the car involved, the better value that will be.

I have no idea how it compares with other offers or if it is fair value or not. But it's a lot of money! But I guess doing the trip yourself is out of the question because of COVID.

Galway to Dublin for €400 is insane though, utter rip off Ireland pricing...

Well, it was the buyer paying it, I just worked off a nett price for the car. Whether it cost €100 or €10000 was up to the buyer to decide on whethe it was worth it.

As for Galway-Dublin - well, work it out: 198kms to the M50 and unless you've got a backhaul, you have to cover 2 legs. Regular haulage is normally about €1.50/km.

Trucks ain't cheap you know :)

Well car arrived in Wien as the locals say, and he's delighted with it.

Worth a shout out to Jarvis Transport (based in Dublin), and to Dominik who's the owner there , https://www.facebook.com/jarvistransireland
