The interior is in stunning condition. The interior normally suffers from all sorts
of damage from being left idle for decades. Mold growth from damp on fabrics, upholstery and leather
is as damaging to fabrics as rust is to metal. Its extremely hard to completely remove.

You dont have this issue with this car at all. Its time warp piece.

If it's a diesel could you please record, from a safe distance, the racket it makes on first start up, an uncle of mine had a few of them, definitely the best farmers car of there era.

I honestly don't think we'll be parting with this car - it's so unique :)

It'll be a dilemma to figure out what to do with it, but you have something extremely special here, even leaving aside the sentimental value to your family. If you're going starting it, you should engage the Peugeot equivalent of Kadman to get her going!

One for Car SOS I think, genuinely I'd give them an email.

There is only one kadman....and he is a VW nut:D:D

I agree entirely, a good Peugeot enthusiast with diesel engine knowledge
is the guy to get help from right enough. Or an experienced diesel mechanic of that era.

In other words, another old dude:eek::P

I had a 2008 Citroën Berlingo that was around that mark, slower even, tbh it was grand for tipping around.

Does that mean all you speed jockeys would not be interested in this beauty of a car;)

Really? I always assumed that the "Kad" part of the title referred to the Opel Kadett and therefore Kadman is an Opel fan.

Gosh OP - sorry for your loss, but your story sounds like a life well lived.

And got me to thinking about my Dad.....still with us, but Def a man of his own mind. He too is....eccentric. ....and inclined to collect all manner of stuff. Cars, farm machinery, etc. Last time I checked there were.....22 cars at home.....originally a boat builder and carpenter he went through lots of phases. ...and he plays music as well. We, my generation, really haven't a fraction of the talent our parents had: much of theirs learned by economic necessity.

He lives frugally, has no interest in creature comforts. He buys cars no one wants, cos he likes them. S-Class. 7-Series. LS400. etc etc. He bought an 02 540i a while ago. "Why?" I asked......."because I've always wanted to see the inside of a V8" came the reply....

He's why I'm a petrol head. And builder. And.....everything else..

Must pop over again. Mustn't leave things unsaid. Life's too short.

I'll deal with the collection when the time is right.

    Thanks for the reminder.

I'm only 50% sure i should post this, but anyhow.....this thread came front & centre today...for the wrong reasons..

My dad, as mentioned above: i woke up this am to a million missed calls, only to find there was a big fire at my dad's last night, and he lost so many of his prized collection.... the 63 Merc SEb he'd owned since 1969, the Lancia Trevi since 198?, my 1200 Beetle, his Combine harvester (you read that correctly....), and another bunch of unremarkable cars....and the building they were all stored in. And God knows what else. He suffered burns (probably trying to save stuff) and had skin graft surgery today.

We spent all day picking over embers.....its been such a **** day, sorry..... :(

    Ode To The Motorist

“And my existence, while grotesque and incomprehensible to you, generates funds to the exchequer. You don't want to acknowledge that as truth because, deep down in places you don't talk about at the Green Party, you want me on that road, you need me on that road. We use words like freedom, enjoyment, sport and community. We use these words as the backbone of a life spent instilling those values in our families and loved ones. You use them as a punch line. I have neither the time nor the inclination to explain myself to a man who rises and sleeps under the tax revenue and the very freedom to spend it that I provide, and then questions the manner in which I provide it. I would rather you just said "thank you" and went on your way. Otherwise I suggest you pick up a bus pass and get the ********* ********* off the road”

So sorry to read that story. It's sad to see such a collection destroyed.

No loss of life is a consolation.

Hope your Father recovers from the burns quickly.
