A friend of mine is thinking about selling a chair that they have had for a number of years. Does anyone know any information about it or it’s worth?

I can see why they only have one of the chairs.
That room don't look like its a family room.

Doesn't look very valuable - has your friend tried emailing pics of the chair to auctioneers?

The chair appears to be an amalgam of several different chairs and periods. Possibility it's was an antique dealers special - where different bits of older chairs were put together to make a whole chair. Neither the legs, scrolls, chair arms and especially the back match. The chair back especially looks not right.

Not saying it is - but there is a good line in fakes antiques out there

Put it upside down and take a look at how it is put together, joints & seat structure. That should tell you a lot.
