    Hi there,

I currently have the OnePlus 7 Pro and I'm considering upgrading to the 9 Pro as my 7 Pro has screen burn on the status bar. Has anyone ever got the Chinese version flashed with the Global ROM as I see that the Chinese version of the 9 Pro can be got for €700 with free DHL shipping from China which is a considerable saving.

    Cheers!

I got the Chinese version of the 7T flashed with the global rom from Honorbuy, everything working perfectly for over a year now.

Good to hear! Still trying to decide is it worth it, considering possible customs charges from China, having to buy the correct plug and of course having the Chinese version. Thanks.

If it had NFC payments I'd consider it.

    Exactly, me too.

Just on battery life of 9 pro..... Its definitely nowhere near as good as my 6t was when it was new but it's unreal quick to charge.

Still haven't decided on it, I'm considering is it worth getting the Pro for €700 from China or am I better off just getting it from OnePlus.

    I don't know.
I suppose you just have to weigh up is it worth the risk if something goes wrong with the phone.
The one thing about oneplus is it takes less than one week to repair a phone and have it back to you.

Yeah exactly, I'd prefer to buy it from OnePlus but the Chinese price is tempting all the same.

Wouldn't having the Chinese version mean you definitely need to check if it suits 5G here. I.E 78 not all versions have that network support.

If it's DHL delivery ( unless the seller is stating duty free delivery) you will 100% be paying VAT and customs which will make the phone more expensive than buying it from oneplus/ Amazon

the other risk is that it supports the band here, but carrier here has a block on the particular phone model connecting to the 5g here

super risky, i did a lot of research on a HK Note 20 Ultra and it was an absolute headache, ended up buying euro version

FFS I had around 40% battery last night going to bed.
Woke this morning and it was flat.

Remember having similar problems with several OnePlus phones in the past but can't remember the fix.
I think it's something to do with phone waking when not in use.
    Google play services strikes again.

    i

I did, the fix involved enabling developer options, and changing the default usb connection type. Its been ok since. Connects as something weird like laihanna or something. My brain is fuzzy right now after night shift:)

double chhecked, this is the fix that worked for me ...... from another forum

okay this is what you need to do go into your settings go down to about phone when you see build model click on that until it says developer mode activated once you see that go into your settings look for developer options or however it's worded click on that then activate or turn on developer options scroll down to wherever you see USB debugging and turn that on that should allow you your phone to now be be recognized by Android auto and it should work that is what I had to do for my McLaren to work in my truck that seems to be the only fix that I've come across

Ive had no battery issues. Are you sleep watching porn?:):):)

looking at that, Id be uninstalling nova launcher to see what effect that is having, and checking your sleep settings.

Nova launcher is only that high because I was about 2 hours on it setting everything up.

Is it consistently like that every night? I leave mine on the wireless charger overnight, so have never noticed a drop

    Something is not right.
The first night I had it it was at 15% and dead when I woke in the morning.
But 40% last night is crazy.

Do a system reset, possibly something went wrong during an update. Did you do a fresh install or restore from previous phone? Ive read of issues due to incompatible settings being restored

First day I had it I used OnePlus switcher.
Yesterday while trying to clear the cache on a startup I must have pressed the wrong button.
I enter into a hard reset by mistake.
So had to setup phone from scratch.. no backup
    :(

You really have no luck. Have you posted on the official OP forum, its in the phone settings menu at the top.

You're ignoring the blindingly obvious problem. Google Play Services should use about 1% of battery. There are hundreds of articles on how to fix it when it drains battery.

Some app is not playing nice with it, anything recent that could be to blame?

Yeah it's probably just worth the extra bit for the peace of mind to be honest. Might wait and see do Amazon have it on sale at some stage.

    You think that's bad?
Last Friday I split my head.
Cut an artery and now have 13 staples in my head. Phone troubles are but a drop in the ocean.

I see they do not sell a Tempered glass protector for the Pro but do on standard , is that due to curved glass or some other reason ?
