Hi all,
Vanilla are planning an update to the site on April 24th (next Wednesday). It is a major PHP8 update which is expected to boost performance across the site. The site will be down from 7pm and it is expected to take about an hour to complete. We appreciate your patience during the update.

    Mad question I know,but not really.
    I remember being a young fella back in 1997 or 98 and seeing advertising posters for him playing on Carlow.
    Any one remember this and if so where in Carlow did he perform and can you remember the year and dates?,cheers.

    Yes he did it was a gig in the IT in the early mid/late 90's if memory serves me right.

    I think the whole thing started in the mid 80's one of the students there was the events manger for the student union and went on to work in the industry and was able to bring a lot of Dublin bands to Carlow at the time a lot of them played Archies.



    Meatloaf played in the Youth Centre around 89 as well.

    I remember the Corrs played in st fiaccs hall during the mid nineties too.

    Also remember a "relatively" big heavy metal band played in the youth centre around the same time.

    I was working part time in The seven oaks from 06 till 01 he came in one night to the residents bar for a cup of tea. Not sure of the year but I would say 07.

    when he played in carlow it was definitely the late 90,s I remember seeing
    advertising posters on the poles.

    He played Athy in 1963 as part of a 10 night tour of Ireland.

    That's even more unbelievable it must've been like the back of beyond although that dreamland ball room seems to have attracted some big names.
