Hi all,
Vanilla are planning an update to the site on April 24th (next Wednesday). It is a major PHP8 update which is expected to boost performance across the site. The site will be down from 7pm and it is expected to take about an hour to complete. We appreciate your patience during the update.

GEDMatch Data alternative?

    I created an account a while back (not sure how long ago) and gave up after a while as I didn't really know what I was looking at and didn't have the time.

    I went to login to Genesis Gedmatch tonight and it says

    As of December 9, 2019, GEDmatch is operated by Verogen, Inc. ("Verogen") following the acquisition by Verogen of the GEDmatch website.
    Is this safe? I know they all say they are, but I haven't shared DNA with other sites..
    All of the search results are from just before the takeover and suggesting it may not be safe after a for-profit company take it over.
    Even when I refine the results I do not get any decent answers.
    Is there an alternative that anyone would suggest or is GEDMatch considered safe in general?

    Have search on the forum for this. We talked about it at the time.

    In short, I'm still using it.
    There are no alternatives.
