Hi all,
Vanilla are planning an update to the site on April 24th (next Wednesday). It is a major PHP8 update which is expected to boost performance across the site. The site will be down from 7pm and it is expected to take about an hour to complete. We appreciate your patience during the update.

    1 day per move

    Any person who runs out of time loses (or draws depending on opponents pieces) unless they have mate on the board. Press the skull thing that appears when somebody runs out. However, if they have given notice that they can't play please keep the game alive

    It is up to each player to introduce themselves to the moves. I.E. if somebody tricks you into a draw by repetition while you are winning it is your fault.

    Naturally, the rules of chess apply.

    If you are finished your match from round 1 or 2 you must wait until your opponent in rount 3 or 4 respectively has finished. Each player can only have 1 league match as white and 1 as black going on at the same time. That is unless I ****ed up the fixture list and gave you the same color twice in a row

    Just realised that Redhotpawn is mainly for correspondance chess. I'll look for one for Blitz after dinner

    Redhotpawn have a blitz chess area iirc. Never used it but i'm sure i've seen it on their front page somewhere.

    don't use redhotpawn for blitz, it is decent for correspondence chess but not ideal for blitz.

    I'd be interested in this. Haven't played chess in a couple of years and I'm not exactly a great player but I do enjoy the odd game and this seems like fun. If you're looking for more serious or experienced players though it's probably best all round if I don't get involved or I'll just end up being the leagues whipping boy :D

    I'm going to start this on Monday to give any potential interested parties time to see it. Might PM some of the people who posted in the revival thread. Anybody who wants any practice feel free to challenge me on Redhotpawn.

    Regarding the structure, it might be better to not play blitz games and instead play 1 day per move no timebank with each player playing two games at once, one as black, one as white. If we get an odd number it'll ensure that every player is at least playing one game per round. Because of this could I ask that everybody keeps two spaces free in their list of games or at least frees up 2 spaces by Monday
