I see on FR24 one of the S92s in the air are they doing many daily runs out to the oil rig?

Any photos of the S92's Operating out of Kerry?

Loganair Embraer 145 G-SAJC arrived in this morning from Aberdeen, first of the oil flights I've seen.

Impressive stats for a small airport sandwiched between Cork & Shannon.

I can see there being a nice jump in profits next year again. No shortage of private/corporate jets and the oil operation now which fits in around other flights so they don't need additional staff.

If it maintains these types of load factors and growth rates, we could see 2019 passenger numbers topping 400K - not bad at all!

The Golf operation seems to be growing, G-HOGB and G-HOGC helicopters doing shuttles around the county quite frequently the last few days. HOGC has ADS-B so can be seen often on FR24

Tralee's new mayor spoke of a direct link to Amsterdam being a game changer for Kerry because of the connectivity from the Schipol hub. Surprised that is not being mentioned at the AGM with the other destinations being considered.

    http://traleetoday.ie/mayor-to-meet-with-dunnes-in-weeks-about-vacant-town-centre-premises/

Speaking about other priorities for the year ahead, Mayor Finucane also said a game-changer for bringing industry to the town would also be a direct flight from Kerry to Schipol Airport in Amsterdam.

He said the feedback he has been getting from companies in Tralee and beyond, was that a direct link to a major hub airport like Schipol would be “a game-changer”.

“It’s one of the issues for these companies, like Fexco and Dairymaster. They talk about access, not alone to here but for people who want to set up industry here and have access to world markets,” he said.

Was waiting for the dub-kerry flight last night which was late again when two private jets landed. There was easily another 3/4 parked up as it was. Kerry seems to be a popular spot for them

Just the 7 private jets on the ground when I passed around 2pm. Really fantastic sight

Is it all golf traffic. In general what sort of money would a small airport make from a private jet landing????

Would they have to have security employed to keep an eye on things at night time ??

Generally not a lot, but if requested out of hours then its up to the airport, but they would be bloody stupid to make it unattractive

Anybody got any pics of those 92's?

The golf operation continues to amaze me. Looks like they have a 2nd jet on the go now, Gulfstream V N801HH, landed from Teterboro this morning.

A G4 from NYC would cost you about $90,000 between 10 or so people, so $9000 each plus hotels etc, so someone in Kerry is doing an awesome job getting people to come and play golf, talk about finding an awesome niche market.

    It's this golf course: https://twitter.com/hogsheadgc?lang=en

It's owned by two execs from New York, but they also have two Gulfstreams for bringing people from the States (G4 N800HH & G5 N801HH), along with three helicopters, all with the golf club logo on them. I've also seen a minibus around Killarney with the golf club livery on it (presumably the helicopters aren't able to service the hotels).

There's also regular other private jets in, many of which are likely for the golf club. A telling sign is when a jet lands and one of the helicopters leaves shortly after/shuttles upto Kerry Airport soon after.

Many of them have no problem dropping a grand on gear, especially raingear, only for them to leave it behind if they are from low rainfall states. It's the links golf they are mainly after.

I hope they charge the passengers on those private jets the €5 exit fee!

It's a personal investment by the two guys, their business specialises in turnaround management / improving distressed assets. They also bought and rebuilt the old Waterville Lake Hotel (formerly Mulcahy Group, sister hotel of Ashford Castle, then was Club Med) with lodges and self-catering apartments. The Golf is for members and invited guests. If you have to ask prices you cannot afford to stay or play! Visitors sometimes also play Adare and a Killarney course.

What I meant about the hotels is that I’m guessing the helicopters can’t land at certain hotels in Killarney and the last mile is done by the Hogs Head Minibus. Only pure speculation on my part. The HH helicopters are very frequently in Killarney, often 2 flying together. They’re not always on FR24 I’ve been seeing them with the Mk 1 Eyeball

Few nice ones in earlier. N8000E,N445BJ and G-OLIV. regular 2-NORN was also in

OK on hotels - and agree on FR24 , it bugs me when I hear the helis but cannot see them for trees or on FR24 - They seem to use somewhere near me as a waypoint. But the transat flight, gear & round at Hogs Head would cost them less than the entry fee for the Father & Son at Waterville!
