Is it just me or is this app unofficial or terrible?

When I go to search music videos instead of getting ANY official videos, I just get loads of fan crap, usually some weirdo talking about the video.

When I search anything to do with film trailers its the same.

I'm using the app that came with the phone, and theres nothing else on the market place.

The search functinality is terrible and you can literally not get anything in the way of music videos, trailers etc.

Very frustrating i must admit, anyone experiences any different ?

I have the same issue on my N1 and a friend of mine noticed it too on his Desire. I thought it was the same for everyone. I first discovered it when I visited an artists myspace page and a video, which I knew to work correctly, wouldn't load through the app. I vaguely recall hearing that the list of video's that the app searches is a separate list from the standard one which you'd usually be used to. Don't quote me on that though, it's a very very vague memory.:o That said though since upgrading to FroYo and hence Flash 10.1, I've ditched the app and just view videos through the browser now and it works great. You might want to ask someone here whose installed a 2.2 ROM on their Desire to test how well YouTube works on it??

Does on mine, remember not all clips are available in HQ on youtube.

How did you stop it coming up in the app anyway ?
I tried resetting youtube preferences etc, but still kicks in.

I upgraded my desire to 2.2 and now use the standard YouTube site for all my videos. It's also really handy for streaming tv shows and movies etc.

    Are you running 2.1?

The vid is in HQ but I don't get the option. On the android forums someone said its due to 2.1 and HTML5.

I am running 2.2, that could indeed be it.
