    Hi all,

Firstly let me just say I know nothing about construction so need advice on this.

I have a shed at the back of my house. It is connected to the neighbour's one on one side and is very close to the back wall (I'm talking inches). It is built with solid 4" blocks. I don't know what the foundation is like or if there is even a foundation there. The roof is corrugated iron and is leaking with ivy all over it. and the beams don't actually stretch the whole way across the building (I'm not sure how it's even staying up). There is also no height difference for water run off.

I suppose my question is can I separate it from my neighbours wall without knocking the whole structure and just put a proper roof on it?

Should I knock it and start again?

Should I consider a wooden structure instead?

I want to be able to wire it and have it as a home office at one end and a small storage space/workshop at the other end. It's roughly a 7x4m Shed.

Who would I even ask for advise on this?
