There's nothing I love more than looking at photos of holidays gone by to get in the mood for the new season. I think we could get a good compilation if everyone posted some of their favourites. It'd also give people a good look at places they're thinking of going.

    I'll get the ball rolling:

    Andorra

    stephensholiday034.jpg
    stephensholiday036.jpg

    stephensholiday045.jpg

I'd like to see other people's photos. I'll root around for some more if the thread takes off.

Edit: Can only post 15 images at a time.

I love that last photo, because I'd just gotten caught in really, really deep powder where there was literally no end in sight. I waded through the stuff for a good ten minutes until I finally got back to solid land. The shaded part of the photo is where the powder was, it was like quicksand. My friend took the photo because he was laughing his ass off at the pure anguish on my face. Best workout ever!

This is from a couple of years ago now but I quite like this one of Pas de la Casa in Androrra, 10 seconds later and I'd have missed the shot as the village dissapeared under the cloud:

Hoping to have some good ones of the Matterhorn for your entertainment after next week. :)

That's a great shot alright. I also like Static M.E.'s last one.

Off to Les Deux Alpes tomorrow, I'll be back with photos soon after :)

Fair play. Looked at the online story. Clicked on the next pic and nearly fell off the chair laughing. First there's you going mad boarding, then next, some poor aul wan with her car in bits under a tree. Such a contrast!

Was having trouble uploading my pictures from last week in Zermatt so far due to some problem with flickr, and I also have several hundred to go though and find the decent ones too, but here is one of the better ones of the view from our hotel balcony that I did manage to upload:

Well, rather belatedly, here are some photos from last week in Les Deux Alpes:

Here is a few of us at the snowpark. Spent hours there, I was delighted in the end because I started getting my 180's :)

    180III.jpg
    Another%20180.jpg
    Eoin%20grab.jpg

But here's what happens when you get too cocky ;)
    Bail%21.jpg

Outside our apartment, there was a small little snow field where people had made a ramp and put a bench on the other side of it. We had great fun with it:
    Bench%20again.jpg
    Grindin%27.jpg

The snow on the day of our pick up was incredible, people skiing on the streets and everything:
    DSC00144.JPG?imgmax=800
    DSC00145.JPG?imgmax=800

I love this photo, because it gives you an idea of our visibility at times:
    SA400013.JPG?imgmax=800

Then there's this one, with the village surrounded by clouds:

absolutely savage snow there man... the first few aren't showin though, maybe its my end??

  • Registered Users Posts: 11,589 ✭✭✭✭Necronomicon

No its not just you. Thats weird because when I posted them earlier they definitely came out. They're not photos but they are screen shots I pulled from my cam-corder, that must be the problem.

I'm actually posting from my wii so when I get back on my pc I'll fix it and post more ;)

UCD Ski Trip, Les Arcs, January 18th on the Bois De l'Ors run, skiing off-piste between the avalanche barriers on the way to lunch in Arc 1950. This was definately my favourite little piece of the slopes in Les Arcs.

I think too much time has elapsed for me to try to fix my post, so I'll try to post those pictures again:

    180.jpg
    Another%20180.jpg
    Bench%20again.jpg

Right, those ones above are screen shots pulled from my camcorder, if they don't work this time I guess they won't work. These should be grand:

    SA400057.JPG?imgmax=800
    SA400058.JPG?imgmax=800
    SA400056.JPG?imgmax=800

This is on the glacier, the photo doesn't really do justice to the blizzard-like conditions!
    SA400060.JPG?imgmax=800

This is one of the runs on the glacier, going up the chair lift you literally had to hold your face in your hands or have it sliced off. I think the day I took this there were 38 km/h winds:

    SA400063.JPG?imgmax=800

    And here's the snow park:

    SA400072.JPG?imgmax=800

And one of my favourite photos, the night-skiing run:
