My weddings in ballina on saturday, hope it doesn't get too bad! 17th December last year was shocking

Sun again here in leixlip. There's a lot of drying between snow showers so it will be interesting to see if they end up sticking if the temps drop some more

More video of snow showers from West Clare this afternoon.

Incredible wind chill. Showers have eased considerably. Keep an eye out though for some possible streamer type activity off the west coast.

some very wild snow showers here today. im up around 150m , below that seems to be mainly sleet/hail..

every time a shower passes over the wind really picks up and the snow is blowing mad.. havent seen blowing snow like this in quiet a few years.

showers are comin an going every 20-30 mins, jus as its starting to accumulate the shower stops and snow melts away. temp dropping now and getting dark so id say it should start to build up soon..:)

on another note , press interactive on sky news- there giving a fair chance of snow on and off for nearly most of the week.. :)

Was just speaking to the old man and he was saying he'd just heard a forecast to expect more of the same tomorrow, I thought tomorrow was going to be fairly alright?

Thanks but I recall in one of the previous storms people on here mentioning high seas at times different to full tide (if that makes sense).

Pretty insane here at the moment, its too bad to go outside.

Might be to do with the full moon meaning higher seas. Not sure though.

Snow/sleet showers throughout the day, looks like thats it for a few hours. Wind? A summer breeze. What I'd do to be in the NW for a day.

Two short (about a minute or two long) flurries of snow in North Co. Wexford today. First snow ive seen here since last January. At about 7 this morning and around lunchtime. Nothing since, quite calm wind-wise as well for now.

  • Registered Users Posts: 5,068 ✭✭✭Iancar29

Can anyone confirm that the prolonged band of precip in the north is falling as snow/sleet/ rain? ... id expect to hear a good half foot reported in places by morning if its snow! haha :)

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,118 ✭✭✭jo06555

So what changed so much that the south actually saw snowflakes today? And does This mean we may see more in the coming weeks? ;)
