Don't forget the other 15 grand for the amps, dacs and pure silver wire in super special covers.

Oh god yeah. Then the sound dampened room with a nicely broken-in red leather chair.

Oh, and the 1000 Vinyls and 10000 CDs, and the upgraded computer with 1 Petrabyte.

Have you set them up in the correct positions as per http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v504/F12Bwth2/SpeakerPlacementMK3.png ?
I recently moved my RX6's into a position closer to that and its completely changed the sound quality for the better, worth the change if you haven't already tried it.

I'm using the equilateral triangle. They're monitors rather than bookshelfs.

    BSruAl.jpg

They're a bit closer to the wall than they probably should be, but that's all the depth there is on my desk.

Noppoo Choc Mini w/ MX Reds off eBay and replacement blank keycaps from WASDkeyboards.com

So... big comfy headphones... how about the cheap Jaycar version of the Fischer Audio FA-003? They're like €40 for a rebadged version of headphones that were highly praised at €150.

ps I vote we make this thread "The Audiophile Lounge" ;D

Just so everyone's aware, I did buy the Philips Fidelio L1's and they have ticked every single box from my OP - they sound exactly how I wanted them to sound so surprisingly I haven't had to wait for any mental burn-in.

The great thing about this whole thread, apart from finding some awesome headphones, is that I now have a whole list of gear I want to buy, and have a solid plan for my listening zone :P

Fantastic, great to know you're enjoying them.

Now for the compulsory question about comparisons?

*mini review would also be nice :P

I was all set to buy a Schiit Asgard and Bifrost, then the O2DAC made an appearance and I can't justify the extra cost :(
NwAvGuy has said he will be making a bigger O2DAC designed as a desk amp which should be out this fall, so I think i'll be getting that.
I don't like the power cable going into the front of the O2DAC, and I want a bigger volume control :P

    Asgard and Bitfrost are my dream set up ;_;

(ignoring the fact I don't have headphones that warrant such equipment)

Agreed there, if a new desktop model is released then likely I'll be eyeing that up instead of the O2Ddac....but that may change as i'm not certain how my planned setup is going to work out

Was also planning on pulling the trigger on the asgard/bitfrost combo for my 600's.

PPC do you think the guy would do a deal if a few of us bought the desktop amp?

    do you know him?

    I don't know him i'm afraid.
He doesn't sell directly, you have to buy from http://epiphany-acoustics.co.uk/ in the UK or http://www.jdslabs.com/ in the US.
Theres group buys sometimes on http://www.diyaudio.com/ too.

Most of the places seem to be small little shops, so it may be hard to get a discount.
