Hi all,
Vanilla are planning an update to the site on April 24th (next Wednesday). It is a major PHP8 update which is expected to boost performance across the site. The site will be down from 7pm and it is expected to take about an hour to complete. We appreciate your patience during the update.

Birds singing(?) At night

    Lads, what birds would be singing or chirping away at 1am at night? Freaked me out the other night when I went out with the dogs.

    Some birds see street lights and think the dawn is coming. The brightness of lights is reduced after midnight to reduced this, but doesn't stop it.

    Separately, nocturnal animals can also interpret it as daylight and avoid venturing out.

    We're not near any artificial street lights. About 5km from town.

    Breeding season has kicked off so some males a going mad claiming territory. I often hear Blackbirds calling during the night.

    Blackbirds and Robins would be the most likely singing at night.
