Well spotted, that was bugging me in the back of my mind.

Akin to a package a crips.

Lunchbox or snackbox, extra bag of chips since you get f*** all in the box these days. Washed down with a coke. If I’m not in the mood for meat I’ll just have a curry chips, also with a side of chips

Depends where I go, but it'll be one of these....
Chips, curry dip, jumbo battered sausage, cheeseburger
    Breastbox, curry dip, quarter pounder
    Hot dog, chips, onion rings.

Akin to a package a crips.

Nothing at all wrong with a package of crips after about 45 pints.

And maybe a bag of peanuts.

Maybe stay close to an AED machine and a toilet after that feed.

what's this using the singular "chip" when clearly there are multiple chipS in play?

Northern usage curry chip vs curry chips ...

Fresh cod and chips with lashings of salt and vinegar.

    or

Doner Kebab extra garlic sauce and chips with salt and vinegar (obviously not on the kebab)

    or

Southern Fried Chicken box with a tub of curry sauce on the side. My local does the most epic old-style curry sauce.

    Feck I'm starving now.

Cheese on the Quarter Pounder is an interesting one in that different chippers have different policies on whether it's default opt in or opt out. One place will add cheese unless you explicitly tell them not to. Another place will never include it unless you ask.
Is there such a thing as a national federation of irish chippers? Maybe they could look into it.

I've never had one. Not once. I always see them, looking at me through the glass like brown hockey pucks, but I've never been tempted. I don't even know what they are. Is it meat? If so why are they sold out of the bun? So many questions.

Those brown hockey pucks are indeed spice burgers.

You remember the news that the company that made them were closing down ?

You remember the fight among the spice burger people over the secret recipe in the courts that was eventually settled ?

You remember that there was nationwide campaign to save the spice burger from going into extinction ?

    And the campaign worked

A nice big Doner Kebab (no salad) just chilli and garlic sauce with the meat. Yum! :D

I like the Colonel meal in KFC and love the gravy there!

    It needs the salad.
If the meat is shyte (most are) then the salad pads it out .

I've been fortunate in Sligo it has to be said. All excellent meat from Turkish chefs.

Not a big salt fan but lace the chips with vineger, plus i love the chips at the bottom of the bag that are soft from the vineger, tastes delicious.

Also like the snack box with a breast.

Nothing wrong with a bit of breast, and a greasy box to put your bone in afterwards.

But the salad covers up the taste of the meat. You just need more meat to pad out the meat.

If the meat is ****e then just have a salad.

If I don't think about what's in it I prefer the taste of the cheapie formed stuff off the spit than real meat. Same as a real chicken fillet would never touch the goodness of a deli breaded one.

TBH, I find most of the kebabs in Sligo taste the same, its the chips, and/or the the type of bread used makes the difference. Pretty much same goes for their pizzas.

Eh, the meat's tastier than BoBo's or Son of a Bun's or Bunsen's anyway. The toppings or sauce could do with some razzing up but most restaurant burger sauces/ketchups are **** whether fast or slow food.

Haiwain burger, yes I cannot spell

Can’t beat a burger with pineapple

    Pineapple makes pizza better too!
