Per ICU Media Release https://www.icu.ie/news/3026, the inaugural Irish Schools Online Championships 2020 will run on Fridays 5,12,19 and 26 June from 3 - 4.30 pm. All sections will be live streamed with a 6+ strong commentary team of some of Ireland's strongest players. Details and links at https://www.icu.ie/events/1387 and http://movesforlife.ie/

The live stream with commentary is intended to help to promote chess to as wide an Irish audience as possible and to help 'demystify' some of the very early stages of chess play. It is hoped that material from the event will be used to create learning material for primary schools.

Finally, it is not to late to enter - teams can be from 1 - 10 (4 best score).

Probably too late to enter. Practice sessions running for over a month and teachers are not easily found when this was only put up yesterday.

It does seem odd to announce this when there are no schools open and 6th class kids are effectively out of primary, getting ready to move to secondary school in September.
