Inside World War 2 showing on RTE 2 (not).

I am posting this on WW2 forum, having put up a similar post in the TV forum with very little response.

The last 2 Sunday nights, my friend and I put on RTE 2 at 8pm, expecting to watch Inside World War 2.

It has been consistently listed in TV listings, and last Sunday (17 December) RTE even put up an on-screen message at 7.50 that it would be the next item. However, both that night and the previous Sunday a nature programme actually came on instead.

There was no message or apology from RTE about this abrupt change of schedule.

It is bad enough pulling a listed programme at the last minute, but doing so without even admitting the fact only adds to the insult as far as I am concerned.

    Does anyone know what happened?

    No.

But a friend in the Inner circle of Montrose mandarins said to them they thought it might to too graphic explicit. Their beautiful grandchildren could still be up watching.

I recently managed to get a reply from RTE, which included this:

"Acceptance viewing deemed that episode inappropriate for the time slot and hence it was pulled. There is no date for a future broadcast."

I never heard of this "acceptance viewing" system. It smacks strongly of censorship to me.

    It's probably the watershed.
