Kirill "Baby Fedor" Sidelnikov suspended one year for failed drug test,

Nothing worse than when these guys cheat using drugs and still lose!!! Same with James irvine vs anderson silva.

Aside from looking totally out of shape and not cut while being caught on them.

I cant believe Fedor lets him use that nickname.

Not everyone uses steroids to get cut.

'Looking' out of shape means nothing in MMA compared with winning or losing.

Stanozolol is primarily used to get cut.

Fedor "lets" him use the name because he is his protege.

I think Baby Fedor is a LHW, maybe even a MW. Fighting at HW, he is going to look like he isnt in great shape.

    Statemnt from Kiril's camp

"In preparation for his Affliction debut against Paul Buentello in January, Kirill spent some time training outside of the Imperial Team family in St. Petersburg. Kirill indicated that during that time away he began to experience complications from a broken nose that he had recently sustained.

Not wanting to miss any training time leading up to “Day of Reckoning,” Kirill followed the advice of a coach not affiliated with M-1 who gave him a nose spray commonly used in Russia to help treat some of his symptoms. It is M-1’s belief that the nose spray is what contained the Stanozol.

For those that are skeptical of this explanation, we believe Kirill’s account is true based in large part to his physique. If he had been using large amounts of Stanozol on a regular basis, we believe that the frame of his upper body would have contained leaner muscle that had more definition."

Actually, this is not entirely accurate. Stanozolol will be used while cutting because it will increase lean mass, not cause water rentention and won't convert to estrogen....in an off itself it doesn't really have any adipose burning quality.

Basically it allows someone to maintain a very lo cal, low carb diet but still maintain or even add lean body mass ( basically using the steroid to circumvent the bodies natural reaction to an extended low cal diet....shedding muscle mass ).

Nothing about "Baby Fedor" appearance implied he was on a low cal diet.

Sorry if I didnt make it clear Stanozolol is more of a stacker, you are right.

I don't think you can really judge a fighter by the physical appearance, just look at BJ Penn, he never really looks as athletic as some fighters but he can definitely fight.

You can after fights and Sidelnikov was in fact out shape in his last one.

Well I find comfort in the fact that most guys caught using roids usually lose. It'd be worse if it was the other way around.

Could it more of the case that the fighters who are more intelligent in their training (high level fighters) use that same intelligence when it comes to choosing what drugs to use evade detection?

Fair point, but if everyone is using them, stupid or not, then the field is level anyway!

Even if this was the case the field wouldn’t be even as those who earn the most money would only be the ones who could avail the best and latest drugs.

Drugs in any sport are such an unfortunate invention as it creates peer pressure and competitive paranoia. Testing will almost certainly always lag behind the latest drugs as well.
