Hi all,
Vanilla are planning an update to the site on April 24th (next Wednesday). It is a major PHP8 update which is expected to boost performance across the site. The site will be down from 7pm and it is expected to take about an hour to complete. We appreciate your patience during the update.

Small update on census

    The expanded search facilities on the National Archives' site will be up on 29/30th:

    http://www.census.nationalarchives.ie/about/futureplans.html

    This means you can find out how many married female lacemakers there were in Limerick city - or whatever.

    They have, as expected, pushed back the release of 1901 til later on next year.

    It has now been updated with those extra transcriptions, but I don't see why they spent so much time on that! Come on 1901!!!

    It's amazing how slow this was in coming. I saw a demo of it in September and they were (to paraphrase) waiting for the minister to decide it was a good time to launch. We'll be lucky to get 1901 before the "summer".
