Hi all,
Vanilla are planning an update to the site on April 24th (next Wednesday). It is a major PHP8 update which is expected to boost performance across the site. The site will be down from 7pm and it is expected to take about an hour to complete. We appreciate your patience during the update.

    Just starting this for any one who's interested or wanted to share their recommendations.

    These are some that I enjoyed myself (happens to be mostly lesbian/bi recommendations in my case) but please recommend anything at all that you've enjoyed!

    The Color Purple is a classic, although I've heard the book is much better than the movie. Its about a black girl forced into an abusive marriage realising she's lesbian.

    Sky channel 170, called Together, has a series on most nights called Secrets of Sex. The topics vary, but a while back there was a 3-parter called Transsexual Stories.

    Interesting, but had to watch it on my own.

    All of these are podcasts:

    Throwing Shade: an american pod looking at current affairs as they affect LGBT and women's issues. The hosts are a bit extra but if you can get past that its actually a really great show.

    Making Gay History: first person accounts of LGBT issues throughout recent history

    Homosapians: Love this so much, basically Alan Cummings and Chris Sweeney chatting to various people. Heavy slant towards LGBT issues

    And for true crime enthusiasts - Beyond the Rainbow - true crime within the community.

    Honourable mention for Happy Place. Not an LGBT podcast but one that has a lot of LGBT subjects with some great insights.
