I don't like moral victories. But this was a game we left after us. We havent beaten Kerry since 2012. So gutted we were close maybe lacked a bit of composure with some of our shot selections in front of the posts and the ref didn't help matters at all. Nice to see Cork playing competitive football again its been too long a miss. Hopefully we can make the super 8s.

A few stars of the future no doubt.

The U14, U16, U18, and Seniors have now won Munster Championships, the seniors have also won the NFL Div 1. The U16s & U18s have yet to play All Ireland Semi Finals and the U21 are in Munster Final. There seems to be a load of talent on the conveyor belt in Cork Ladies Football

A glorious performances compared to 12 months ago which was as depressing as I've ever been in PUC. Yet it was still rancid at times tonight.

Ruairi Deane is a super player. Great performance by him today.

    l

Playee well tbf, not outstanding but was decent

Cork put at least pride in the Jersey again. Happy to have been proven wrong to least some degree.

We win lot of 50/50 compared to sweet nothing last year.

Ref was poor. Not trying blame him but he gave at least 4 bad decisions against us

There really is. The established ladies clubs are thriving while newish clubs like Glamire ladies, winning the all Ireland junior club last year, have serious numbers at underage coming through.
    The future looks good.

When you look around at whats there Cork are as good as any of them that are mentioned as last 8 bar Dublin Donegal and those shower back the road. Its important that they dont rest on a moral victory now but kick on through the qualifiers with aim of getting to a semi final at least.

The Camogie players won today too and deserve a mention

All-Ireland Senior Camogie Championship Group 2

    Cork 2-20 Tipperary 1-08

All-Ireland Intermediate Camogie Championship Group 1

    Kildare 1-06 Cork 1-22

Fine win against Tip, forgot to check the score earlier. Noticed that Briege was starting in midfield and O'Callaghan was starting g centre back instead of Gemma. Tip had 5 points after around 10 minutes, but were only allowed to score 1-03 for the rest of the game.

People were worried when Cork went to division 3 because when they get things right they are good enough for division 1. They trashed Limerick and were as good as Kerry yesterday eventhough it could be argued Kerry were below par but still they knew they still had to beat Cork and made hard work of it.

He was certainly more favourable to Kerry, the free against Cork for a slow kickout could easily have been another against Kerry but wasn't given. Small things can make a big difference.

Examiner said free count was 27-11 in favour of Kerry. Any time we got close he seemed to give them a soft free to get them back on track. Showed his intent straight from the throw in with 2 fifty fifty decisions going Kerry's way to settle them down. Gave one penalty but missed 2 others when hurley and Collins were taken down. When the munster championship is dying from it being so one sided, why do the GAA send these clowns down to tilt the game Kerry's way?

Noticed in the hurling as well as the football, all these referees are coming from so-called ‘weaker counties’. O’Dwyer from Carlow reffing the hurling and the fella last night from Wicklow. The standard’s just not there.

Just seen the highlights from last night on RTE. I'd say we could be Super 8s bound with a friendly qualifier draw. I'd take Tyrone, Westmeath, even Mayo honestly.

    Lost 0-13 v 1-14

Kerry will probably go on to win their 5th All Ireland in 6 years at this grade now.

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,996 ✭✭✭zetecescort

Kerry went from 1 down at HT to 6 up before we scored again after 20 min of the 2nd half.

Surely them the onus is on the 'traditional' counties to start producing more referees, although why would anyone in their right mind want to, given the abuse they routinely receive.

The players will have to keep their balls covered.

Hoping for Laois or Clare Monday morning I suppose. I'd nearly take Mayo too after cutting it close last year.

i would like us to get cork for various reasons also :D but in fairness it would be better for cork not to get clare as the last few meetings have been lopsided against cork and pressure would be on , ye are way better then what ye have shown in the league laois would be ideal , i wouldn't rule out ye beating a depleted mayo side ye can raise the game against better teams do ye really want clare again there has been some fairly one sided games in recent past ,

Our early league performances were a disaster. I'd be confident in the lads keeping it close this year.

It's possible that we'll be playing Laois in hurling and football next weekend. I think the football matches are supposed to be neutral venue but if it happened what would be the chances of a double header in Portlaoise?

That'd be an interesting day out and no doubt a sell out
