I always find it hard to find good horror films so would love some suggestions.

    To kick things off:

    1. Exorcist
    2. The Texas Chainsaw Massacre
    3. Halloween
    4. Hereditary
    5. Lights Out

    4. Suspiria (1977)
    5. A nightmare on elm street

Haven't watched too many. Ones I'd recommend

    The Sixth sense
    The Shining
    The Exorcist

Saw a few recently. All are ok. Nothing special for me. Kinda left me with an unfulfilled feeling afterwards:

    Hereditary
    9th Session
    Us
Might watch Midsommar tonight. Supposed to be good.

I enjoyed most of the Saw franchise. Not that I'm massively into gore. Just like the twists and turns. Some of it was muck. But it had enough to keep me engaged.
Saw a film years ago with Michelle Pfeiffer and Harrison Ford. What lies beneath. That was quite good.

Anyway, like I say, I haven't seen a huge amount of horror.

The Exorcist - Season 1 & 2 from 2017 is well worth watching too.

Did that get a proper ending or cancelled?

Season 3 never happened, I suppose it was too niche to begin with. Both season 1 and 2 are individual seasons and have different story-lines.
It's surprising how few people knew about this series

    In no particular order:

    1. Ringu
    2. Evil Dead 2
    3. Hereditary
    4. The Exorcist
    5. The Changeling
    6. The Omen

On the topic of TV horror, I can't recommend Slasher enough. Brilliant first two seasons the third was ok. No paranormal just a good Aul slash fest.

The first two seasons of the Scream series were decent too

It Chapter 1 - is excellent and a real pity its left down by a poor sequel.

Us - Goes one step too far in the final third but its decent.

Scream - A personal favourite, doesn't get enough credit as I think it should.

Most of the obvious ones mentioned already but one I enjoyed a lot in recent years is Don't Breathe.

    Eden Lake is pretty disturbing

It's not bad. I don't know if the premise was original but it seemed after that movie we got a slew of 'group go to a shack in the woods for weekend get followed by crazed individual/gang/monster' type movies.

Session 9 is a very underrated and highly recommended horror movie. Its just been added to Netflix
